When the Keukenhof garden first opened in 1950, more than 236,000 visitors flocked to the Netherlands to admire the flowers. Today, the 79-acre garden is still a major tourist destination (and hot spot for taking Instagram photos) from March to May, when over 7 million of the tulips, hyacinths, daffodils, orchids and other flowers bloom.

Albert Dros is a Dutch photographer who loves to capture flowers. So, it’s only reasonable he loves spring, a season when he can capture the real beauty of the Dutch flowers and show them to the whole world. You might heave heard before of the world-famous Keukenhof, which is also considered as the most beautiful tulip garden in the world. Millions and millions of visitors go to Keukenhof to see the beauty that lies there.

However, the garden is only open in spring. This year, it marks the first time in 71 years that Keukenhof remained closed during the spring season too. However, that doesn’t mean that there are no flowers there at all. In fact, the flowers look absolutely magical and like they’re straight out of a fairytale.

Albert has photographed the tulips of Keukenhof many times in his life. However, it was in his ‘bucket list’ to photograph the garden without any other people. He thought he would never had the chance to do so, but it turned out that there would come a time when this would be all possible.

As the COVID-19 virus is keeping everyone at home and tourists away, Albert got the chance to contact Keukenhof and take permission to get inside and photograph the garden from all different angles.

He admits that it was an incredible feeling walking around there all alone while smelling the scene of all those flowers. Overall, he says that it was an incredible experience that will always be dear to his heart. Check the pictures below to see the beauty of Keukenhof!
